Penny-per-Pixel

Advertising has never been this small, fun, or precise…not surprisingly.

This isn't my idea, but it's my version of it. It walks a fine line between the soulless climate of commercialism and the vibrant creativity of individuals, so I'm okay with it being plastered on my sites. I plan on adding it to as many of the sites under my control [insert mad scientist laughter], and that will eventually make the ad space worth more than less. If you're interested, you can get a FREE 10x10 space! After that, the (current) rate is $0.01 per pixel per month, which you can pay through PayPal.

A note from now: the text above is preserved exactly as it was written in 2007, when the space really was for sale. It is archival. Nothing on the grid is currently for sale and no payment is being collected.

Sixty tiles were bought or given away before the idea ran out of road. They are all still up in the left column, in their original positions. Most of the sites they pointed at are gone: of twenty destinations, four still resolve. Tiles whose domain has lapsed are no longer clickable, because a dead domain can be re-registered into anything. Every tile keeps its name on hover, so you can still read who was there.
